Green signal for 150 proposals worth Rs. 419 crore: Minister

As many as 150 proposals worth Rs. 419 crore had been given necessary licences under Tamil Nadu Business Facilitation Act (TNFA), 2018 and Single Window Facilitation for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), said Minister for Industries M.C. Sampath.

Speaking at a roadshow organised by Confederation of Indian Industry on the Global Investors’ Meet 2019 here on Saturday, he said the TNBF Act, which was aimed at single point receipt of applications and clearances that were required to establish or expand any enterprise, had been a big boost to the industrialists. Similarly, the MSME department had been implementing an online Single Window Portal to deliver requisite services to investors in a time- bound and transparent manner from 11 departments, including the Directorate of Town and Country Planning, and Health and Directorate of Industrial Safety. The TNBF Act and the Single Window Portal had received good response. Explaining the industrial prospects for Tiruchi, Mr. Sampath said the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited had received work orders for producing four lakh tonnes of MS material boilers and allied goods. There was a move to transform the diesel loco shed of Golden Rock into an electric loco shed. These two important developments could provide immense industrial potential for small and micro entrepreneurs to tap.
