Kallikudi integrated market to open by June 30

The integrated vegetable and fruit market in Kallikudi will be open for public and traders from June 30 (Saturday). With three days to go for the inauguration, agriculture business and marketing department is expected to expedite the process of relocating 300 wholesale dealers from Gandhi market to the new facility in the first phase.
Meanwhile, district administration has made it clear that heavy vehicles carrying fruits and vegetable produce will not be permitted inside the congested Gandhi market vicinity from June 30.
As the agriculture marketing department identified 300 wholesale traders willing to shift their operations to new Kallikudi facility, they were allotted a shop each through randomisation on June 12.
