According to a press release issued by the university, gender studies being an inter-disciplinary course, students with any degree can apply.

The course will reflect on India’s advantages in the forms of pluralistic society and the second largest human resource in the world, and the negation of the advantages by divisions on the basis of class, caste, gender, race, language, culture, region, and religion.

Students of gender studies will learn how the divisions have contributed to discrimination and inequalities in society.

In the backdrop of the existence of several unwritten social norms that sustain inequalities and lead to social injustice, the programme will discuss feminist theories and philosophies, gender theories and approaches, national and international policies and programmes, and U.N. conventions on elimination of violence against women and humans.
