Anukreethy was always confident of winning

Suddenly, Tiruchirappalli is all agog with the news of Anukreethy Vas being crowned fbb Colors Femina Miss India World 2018. And so is Chennai’s Loyola College, where Anukreethy studies. Her mother, Seleena, who lives in Trichy, is over the moon, as she tells us, “This is all because of her hard work and her friends.” Her friends can’t stop talking about her, and tell us she was always confident of winning this title. Here they are, telling all about the friend, daughter and more, who has now become the brand new diva of their lives…

I didn’t expect this much. As far as I can remember, this is the happiest moment ever in my life. I had to do a lot of hard work to bring her up as a single parent. And I must say that it’s her determination that has taken her this far. Having grown up in Trichy, nobody would have expected her to come this far. Forget the fact that people in Trichy don’t consider modelling as a career option for girls, they even talk behind your back if you walk around wearing a modern dress. But she has been determined to make it big in modelling. While she was in school, she was active in western dance. She studied till Class 10 at the Montfort School in Tiruchirappalli and then, Class XI and XII in RSK Higher Secondary School. She got good exposure in extra-curricular activities at the Montfort School. It was after joining Loyola College that she picked up interest in modelling. Whether I liked what she was doing or not didn’t matter at all. I didn’t want to stand as an obstacle when it came to her dreams and passion. I knew that she would be open about everything if I supported her. So, I have been supportive about her modelling career. Semma happy aa irukku.
