NITT invites applications from potential entrepreneurs

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation (CEDI), a Section 8 company promoted by National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi, has invited applications for its next round of incubation support and funding of innovative businesses in Information Technology/Electronics - SMAC areas.

CEDI is implementing a project, Technological Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE), funded by Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Union Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, to promote start-up companies in the areas of ICT and electronics. It provides seed fund up to Rs. 25.00 lakh for technology-oriented innovative business ideas. Necessary mentoring and support for creating access to markets, augmenting managerial skills and patenting are provided by CEDI.

The centre has already incubated 10 innovative businesses in diverse areas in the last three years. It has created a comprehensive entrepreneurial eco-system at NITT, and enables young entrepreneurs to initiate technology start-up companies for commercial exploitation of technologies developed by them.

Incubatee companies can access NIT-T’s infrastructure, department laboratories and other R&D resources of NITT for their product development purposes. They can also tap into the expertise of NITT students through internships. In addition to technical and managerial support, Sonata Software has committed significant funding to CEDI NITT to support technology business incubation under CEDI-Sonata partnership.

Potential entrepreneurs including working professionals, faculty members, research scholars, and UG and PG Students can apply. The last date for receipt of application for the current round of funding is March 9. For further details visit:www.nitt-cedi.in
