My City My Responsibility' challenge

In a novel attempt to encourage residents segregate waste at source, the Trichy Corporation has launched ‘My City My Responsibility’ challenge on Facebook. The challenge invites the public to share a minute-long video showing them segregating waste. After sharing the video on Facebook, the user should tag minimum of three of their friends asking them to repeat the same process.


Emulating the ice bucket challenge that was in headlines in 2015 for promoting awareness on motor neuron disease, corporation officials said that the ‘My City My Responsibility’ challenge was launched to promote the activity of segregating waste at source. “As per the challenge, we have invited people to post a video of them segregating waste at source on Facebook. Besides that, they have to tag minimum three of their friends or family members to repeat the same,” corporation commissioner N Ravichandran told TOI.
