Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, will shortly add to its portfolio two new products — technology of converting high ash coal to methanol through gasification and chemical transformation with back-up from NITI Aayog and de-NOX system for thermal power plants.

Disclosing this at the valedictory function of the Productivity Week observation here on Monday, R. Rajamanohar, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi, said adoption of new technology and investments in new projects was vital for gaining a competitive edge and to lead the transformation sweeping across the manufacturing sector.

Addressing general managers, products and functional heads and other senior officials, Mr. Rajamanohar said discussions were in the advanced stage with prospective collaborators for technology transfer for the manufacture of de-NOX systems needed to be installed at coal-based thermal power plants as per revised environment norms.

Proper execution of projects in hand hinged on productivity, consistency and employee attitude, he said, calling for adoption of the latest technology for decision-making as well.

Mr.Rajamanohar presented awards to departments that effected maximum savings by implementing IMPRESS projects, those that had implemented the maximum number of projects and those departments that had contributed the maximum number of suggestions.
