IIM-Tiruchi finishes summer placements

Indian Institute of Management-Tiruchi has reinforced its position as one of the premier business schools in the country by completing summer placements for 157 students of the PGP 2017-19 batch with 17 % increase in average stipend.

For female candidates, the average stipend was 28% higher than their male counterparts.

Ninety five companies encompassing regular recruiters such as Dabur, L & T, Mahindra & Mahindra, Microsoft, Saint Gobain, Yes Bank, and new recruiters: Avalon Consulting, Avendurs, DHL, Godrej, RBL Bank, and Shopclues participated in the placement process, a press release said.

All the 157 out of 174 eligible students of the class of 2019, who had opted for summer placements through the Institute, were placed across various domains of sales and marketing, finance, general management, strategy, consulting, operations and HR.

The average stipend was Rs. 62,019 and the highest Rs. 2,50,000. The average stipend of the top 10 percentile was Rs. 1,67,750. It was Rs. 1,27,795 for top 25 percentile and Rs. 93,192 for top 50 percentile, the press release added.

“Successful completion of the summer placement process with a 17 % increase in the average stipend, despite unstable macroeconomic conditions, reflects the confidence industry has in us,” Abhishek Totawar, Placement Chairperson, said.

Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Tiruchi, said: “Completion of summer placement with such impressive figures is a testimony of the academic rigour at the Institute.”
