Tiruchi NCC Air Wing cadets excel in all-India camp

NCC Air Wing cadets of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar Directorate won the “Overall Golden Trophy” in the All India Vayu Sainik Camp held at Jodhpur in Rajasthan from October 23 to November 3.

Of the winning contingent, five cadets were from 3 TN Air Squadron (Tech) NCC Tiruchi. Out of the seven medals won by the Tamil Nadu Directorate during the camp, three medals were bagged by Tiruchi cadets.

Flight Cadet Srivathsan of Bishop Heber College won silver medal in static aero modelling, while Flight Cadet V. Vignesh of National College won a bronze in control line flying. Flight Cadet Raghul Velan of National College won bronze medal in 0.22 firing competition.

Flight Cadet Joshua Bhaskar of Bishop Heber College and Flight Cadet K. Keerthiga of Holy Cross College were also part of the winning contingent.

The medal winners were given a warm welcome after their return here by Group Captain Alex Mathew, Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Gunasekaran and staff of the unit, a press release said.
