Tiruchi, Musiri schools win handball trophy



The Government High School, K. K. Nagar, and Amala Girls Higher Secondary School, Musiri, won the boys and girls titles respectively in the 11th district sub-junior handball championship here recently.

The championship, played for the SBIOA Educational Trust Rolling Trophy, was jointly organised by the Tiruchi District Handball Association and SBIOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Thirteen teams in the boys section and nine teams in the girls category participated.

Chellammal Vidyalaya and SBIOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School bagged the second and third spots respectively in the boys category.

Best players

S. Rajkumar of Government High School, K. K. Nagar, and A. Sridharan of Chellammal Vidyalaya were declared best player and best goalkeeper respectively.

St. Joseph’s Anglo Indian Girls Higher Secondary School and St. Vincent Matriculation School finished second and third respectively in the girls category.

P. K. Janani of SBIOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School and A. Pavithra of Amala Girls Higher Secondary School were adjudged best player and best goalkeeper respectively at the tournament.
