New primary teachers get insight into KV system



A three-day orientation programme for newly recruited primary teachers of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Tiruchi Cluster culminated at KV-2, HAPP, on Wednesday.

The programme conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Chennai Region, acquainted the teachers with strategies to make the teaching-learning process effective and interesting.

The 50 teachers, posted to vacancies in eight schools in the cluster, were oriented with the system, Kendriya Vidyalaya, its mission and vision and code of conduct. They were also oriented with the textbooks and lesson plan writing, and familiarised with ICT-enabled teaching-learning method, preparation of teaching-learning material and worksheet, maintenance of primary record, and handling of co-scholastic subjects, N. Alagendhi, Course Director and Principal of KV-2, HAPP, said.

K.Anandan, Professor and Head, Department of Education, Bharathidasan university, inaugurated the programme.

Mr. Alagendhi said the participants also learnt the importance of hygiene, good habits and creating an atmosphere conducive for learning in the classroom.

The teachers reported for duty last month at the KV 1 - OFT, KV - 2, HAPP, KV - Ponmalai, and the KVs in Karaikudi, Thanjavur, Perambalur and Karaikal districts.
