NCC cadets feted



The 3 (TN) Air Sqn (Tech) NCC honoured Associated NCC Officers and medal-winning cadets in various national events at a function held to commemorate the 69th NCC Day celebrations

Presiding over the function held at Bishop Heber College, Group Captain Alex Matthews, who was the chief guest, said 3 (TN) Air Sqn (Tech) NCC was the only Air Wing in the region imparting training to 23 districts.

NCC has been providing ample opportunities to Flight Cadets (F/C) to explore and display their talents in the national forum. It has been a stepping stone for cadets, particularly those hailing from remote and poor backgrounds, to achieve great heights.

The Group has contributed significantly in grooming up the cadets and enabling thier induction in various uniform services and other service sectors across the country, the Group Captain said.

Wing Commander C. Gunasekaran (incoming Commanding Officer), presented the medals to winners in the recently concluded All India Vayu Sainik Camp Competition (AIVSC) at Jodhpur; Vayu Sainik Camp (VSC) Inter Group competitions (IGC) held on September 17 at Tambaram; Inter-Group level Republic Day Camp (RDC) IGC competitions that concluded this month; and in the recently concluded All India level Rock Climbing Training Camp at Gwalior.

Sqn Ldr R. Sundhararaman, ANO (Principal of National College), and Chief Officer John Bosco, ANO of Sacred Heart School, were felicitated on the occasion of their retirement after distinguished service in NCC for 17 years and 24 years respectively.
