Kuzhumikarai Road gets LED lights

Twenty-eight LED lights installed along the Kuzhumikarai Road near Thennur in the city were formally commissioned on Saturday.

The LED lights, erected on eight-metre high galvanised octagonal poles, have been installed at a total cost of Rs. 16.75 lakh. Of this, Rs. 10 lakh was contributed by P. Kumar, MP, from his Local Area Development Fund (MPLAD) and the remaining expenditure was borne by the Tiruchi Corporation from its general funds. The lights have been erected on the Kuzhumikarai Road from Anna Nagar Link Road to the Azhvarthoppu Bus Stand in ward 50. The lights were commissioned by Vellamandi N. Natarajan, Minister for Tourism, in the presence of S. Valarmathi, Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare.
