The officials involved in construction said that a total of ' 4.5 crores has been sanctioned for the project and a majority of the works now remain completed. . The Tiruchy Rail way junction for all these years has been connected with plat-form number one until end through a narrow subway, which is used by laths of people including the residents who reach Kallukuzhi by walking through the subway. The current design to connect the platforms will start from the parcel office and connect till Kallukuzhi side for the convenience of the passengers. The work is going on in full swing with already beams laid in all the seven platforms to support the entire structure.

Currently, work is on at a brisk pace on the first and seventh platforms where beams have been erected. All the pillars to support the beams have been installed at the Railway junction. As the railway junction has a long narrow subway at the entry and the exit of the crowd from platform number 1 to 7, the necessity of a foot over the bridge was never considered until the authorities decided to go ahead with the plan due to the increasing number of passengers three years ago. A damage in one of the electrical lines underneath had caused a damage which will be rectified too.
