Special buses to clear Deepavali rush

The Salem region of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate special buses from the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri to various destinations from October 16 to 22 to clear the Deepavali rush.

In a statement issued here on Monday, K. Pandi, managing director of the TNSTC, said that the special buses would be operated round the clock from different towns in these districts.

The TNSTC will operate special buses from Salem to Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Karur, Erode, Tiruchengode, Bhavani and Namakkal from the temporary bus stand coming up in the Jawahal Mill ground in the city.

The buses for the other cities and towns such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Puducherry, Mysuru, Cuddalore, Vellore, Chidambaram, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Attur, Edappadi and Mettur will be operated from the new bus stand.

The TNSTC will operate special city buses from new bus stand, old bus stand and railway junction to Jawahar Mill ground round the clock.

The Corporation will also operate night services in the city and surrounding areas during this period.
