Revision of electoral rolls from tomorrow

Image result for revision of electoral roll 2017Special summary revision of electoral rolls, 2018, will commence in all the nine Assembly constituencies in the district on October 10.

The draft electoral roll will be published on the day and copies will be put up in the offices of Electoral Registration Officers / Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, to enable voters to verify their entries.

New electors who will complete the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2018 (those born before January 1, 2000), can submit form 6 for inclusion of their names.

Electors can apply for correction in name by submitting Form-8 and those who have shifted residence within Assembly constituency can submit Form 8A for address change.

Form 7 has to be submitted for deletion of names.

The electors can file their claims and objections from October 3 to 31.

Gram Sabha meetings

The names in the electoral rolls will be read out at the Special Grama Sabha meetings on October 7 and 21, District Collector K. Rajamani said in a press release.

As directed by the Election Commission of India, special camps will be conducted on two Sundays (October 8 and 22) at all polling stations for receiving claims and objections in Form 6, 7, 8 and 8 A.

Overseas electors can submit Form 6A to the Electoral Registration Officer concerned.

Electors could alo apply online at www.eletions.tn.gov.in, the press release said.
