LAND registration process in the sub registrar offices which comprises stamp duty and registration fees calculation, accounts and challans, e-payment for making the payment of stamp duty and registration fee and token system are all set to go more transparent and easier within a month's time as Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is scheduled to roll out a new module in the second week of November. At present, there are three stages in document registration  execution, presentation and registration. People don't face much problem in the first phase execution, but they face practical difficulties during the second phase - presentation of documents before the officials.

After the implementation of the new module by way of a software application, this lacunae will not be there. "The executant and claimant can fix a prior appointment with the sub registrar. On a given date and time, they can present the document and get it registered without any hassle. Moreover, at the time of application for getting appointment with the sub registrar, if the document has certain defects, the same will be communicated to the executant/claimant through on-line portal which will enable the interested parties or concerned to correct the defects and re-present the same to the sub registrar, " A communication from the Inspector- General of Registration J Kumaragurubaran, to department officials on Wednesday said. The certified copies of document can also be applied for online and intimation will be sent to the individual applicant when the copy of the documents are ready for return. Then, the applicant can go in person and collect the same from the office. Moreover, it has been planned to send SMS in Tamil/English to the parties concerned or the applicants about the status of their applications.
