Rally for rivers' to reach Tiruchy on Sept. 6

"Rally for Rivers"is a rising movement aimed at reviving and rejuvenating the depleting rivers of Ind-ia. A public event to create awareness on "Rally for Rivers" will be organised at Tiruchy on September 6, on the southern banks of river Cauvery. A host of prominent personalities including Sadh-guru, Founder of Isha Foundation, Tamil Nadu ministers Mrs.Valarmathi, Vet-lamandi Natarajan and former special director of the CBI D. R. Karthikeyan, are expected to address the event that will also include vibrant music performanc-es, according to a release issued by the Isha Foundation.

Thousands of people including students from schools and colleges, farmers, business men, corporate sector employees and soldiers from I3SF will be participating, it said. Volunteers have been campaigning in Tiruchy district for the past one month, campaigning about the dire state of our perennial rivers and the need to call for action to save them. As an effort to generate awareness on saving our rivers, Sadhguru, Founder of Isha foundation, will be traveling throughout India for 30 days, driving a car all by himself for around 7,000km. He will be joined by the general public, leaders, and celebrities at various places along the way. The nationwide rally that will start on September 3 will travel through 16 Stat-es and will culminate at New Delhi on October 2. More than 20 "rally for rivers" events will be happening en route. All en route Chief Ministers have con-firmed their participation and expressed support for these awareness rallies, the release added. Please start an eco-club, and plant a neem , ashoka and amla
or mango tree and nurture it for 5 years - to support this rally for revival of all rivers.
