Change in pattern of train services due to line block

The Southern Railway has announced the following changes in pattern of train services due to line block for the commissioning of doubling work between Srirangam and Golden Rock railway stations:

The Mayiladuthurai - Tiruchi – Mayiladuthurai Express (Train no.16233/16234) will be partially cancelled between Thanjavur – Tiruchi – Thanjavur from September 10 to 30.

The Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Express (Train No.16127 ) will be regulated en route for 30 minutes from September 10 to 29.

The Nagercoil - Mumbai CST Express scheduled to leave Nagercoil at 5 a.m. is rescheduled to leave at 6.30 a.m. from September 10 to 28.

In another release, the Southern Railway said that the composition of Train No.12636 / 12635 Madurai – Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vaigai Express trains and Train No.12605 / 12606 Chennai Egmore – Karaikudi – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express trains are to be revised. A general second class coach will be removed and instead a second class chair car (reserved) would be added to the Vaigai Express from Monday and to the Pallavan Express from Tuesday, the release said.

The pantry car in the trains (which accommodates passengers partially and houses a pantry as well) would be replaced by a full-fledged pantry car.
