Applicants throng RTOs in Tiruchi

The Transport department’s move to keep the Regional Transport Offices open for the benefit of applicants seeking driving and learners licences met with a good response on Saturday.

A large number of applicants thronged the RTOs, especially the Tiruchi West RTO, seeking learners and driving licences. Officials said the day was allocated exclusively for issuing the licences in the wake of the government’s recent decision making it mandatory for drivers to carry their driving licence in original.
