St Joseph's College inks pact with US university

A Memorandum of Understand-ing (MoU) was signed between St Joseph's College (SJC) and Man-aged Medical Services (MMS) Holdings, Michigan, the USA to exchange knowledge resource be-tween the institution. The foreign University will provide the special training programme for life science students in Tiruchy with the centre being SJC.The signing of the memorandum was also convened at the silver jubilee celebration of the department of Biochemistry here on Wednesday. A seminar of International level on "Career Options and Job Scenario in Life Sciences" was
organised jointly by the department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. Speaking at the event, Nandhi-ni Vijaisimha, Human Resource Head of MMS Holding said that the MoU with SJC will enable the former university to provide expertise for postgraduate students of life science for medical writing and pharma covigilance to promote placement opportunities.
The Pricipal of  SJC said that the planning of tieing up with MMS Holding was started three years back. The main intension for such a programme is to reduce the fees for the life sciences programmes. "Now, the students of SJC will get to experience the expertise kind of learning during their academics, as the age is not a bar-r ier," the principal added. He said that SJC caters to the needs of the students from weak-er section and underprivileged, thus reducing the fees structure for the programme. Further adding, the principal advises the students of biological sciences to contribute the knowledge for the future generations of this institutions.
