Palaniswami inaugurates sub treasury at Srirangam



CHIEF MINISTER Edappadi K Palanisamy on Friday inaugurated new buildings to house the sub treasury at Srirangam and Thiruverambur through video conference. The facilities have been constructed at an estimated cost of 60 lakhs. According to an official press release, the sub treasuries in Srirangam and Thiruverambur were functioning from rented buildings. To reduce the rental cost, former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa announced that new buildings would be built in Sr-irangam and in Thiruverambur. On completion of the project Palanisamy on Friday inaugurated the buildings through video conference from Chennai.

Apart from the buildings for sub treasuries, the Chief Minis-ter also inaugurated to fish landing centres in Ramanathapuram district, a sub-registrar office at Rayakottai in Krishnagiri district. and buildings for the Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry Veterinary Sciences University (TANU-VAS) and dairy development depart rent. An official release here said while the fish landing centre at Dhanushkoti has been established at a cost of Rs.Eight crore, the one at T Mariyur has been set up at a cost of Rs330 crore.
At the Dhanushkoti fish landing centre, 30 mechanised boats can be parked and could be trans-
ported to the auction centre. Around 2,000 persons will get direct and indirect employment.
