NSS officers take part in workshop

Thirty NSS program officers from 15 colleges took part in the Facilitator Development Workshop: 'Active Citizens' hosted by the NSS Cell of the Bharathidasan University for six days. The workshop was made interactive and activity based, aiming to create active citizens and planning for social action projects with the core idea of 'Think Globally and Act Locally’.

The workshop inaugurated by R. Babu Rajendran, Registrar of the University was conducted with support of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur and the British Council earlier this month. The program officers were trained by Master Trainers P. Masilamani, NSS Programme Officer of Bharathidasan University, and A. Sahaya Jenitha, NSS Programme Officer of Cauvery College for Women

A. J. Solomon, Senior Project Manager, British Council was the chief guest for the Valediction Programme. He handed over certificates to participants in the presence of other guest speakers R. Mangaleswaran, Syndicate Member of the University and V. Sujatha, Principal of Cauvery College for Women. The participants are expected to transfer the benefit of the training to the volunteers in their respective colleges.
