Launching in September, Trichy-Bangkok flights 4 times a week

Thai AirAsia, a joint venture of Malaysia's low-cost airline AirAsia and Thailand's Asia Aviation, has added Trichy to its list of destinations in India with four weekly direct flights from Bangkok. Booking for the flights, which will commence on September 29, begins on Monday.
Thailand being a popular and affordable tourist destination, the launch of Thai AirAsia flight would attract more people from the central region, travel agents have said. The flight will be operated to Trichy from Bangkok's Don Mueang international airport on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flight FD 110 would arrive in Trichy airport at 11.55 pm and depart as FD 111 at 12.55 am.
The flight has been has widely welcomed by travellers from the state particularly from the central region, as currently they have to take a circuitous route via Kuala Lumpur, Colombo or Singapore to reach Bangkok. Once the service becomes operational it would take less than four hours to fly to Bangkok from Trichy. The service provider will also launch another new service to Jaipur on the same day from Bangkok.
