Fans celebrate ‘Vivegam’ release the green way

Fans of Actor Ajith in Tiruchi district apparently adhered consciously to the standing advice of their idol not to waste money on posters and banners, for the release of the much-awaited Vivegam on Thursday.

Though there were a large number of posters put up at the theatres and surroundings.

And, banners were also there.

But, the numbers were not much, his followers said. The usual euphoria whipped up by deafening drum beats was also missing.

Instead, 'Thala's' fans celebrated the release of the movie with a lofty act that of distributing saplings of various plant varieties.

They came in groups in autos, and distributed the saplings to passers-by, motorists and bus passengers.

Since the actor had already instructed his followers to disband fans clubs a few years back, there was no centralised regulation of the activity on the roads outside the Ramba Theatre and a few other theatres in the city.

There was, nevertheless, an overall understanding among the actor's fans not to appear too boisterous while celebrating the occasion with a green cause.
