Celebrate excellence to stop brain drain: Narayana Murthy

Image result for nit trichy narayna murthyThe country must recognise and celebrate people who have excelled in diversified fields in order to prevent brain drain, co-founder of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy said here on Saturday.
He made this remark while interacting with students of National Institute of Technology-Tiruchy, where he participated in convocation. Distinguished alumnus N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, was also present on the occasion.

Renowned for his strategic planning and implementation, Murthy said society must stop comparing domestic talents with tech savvy minds in the Silicon Valley. “If we continue all the good things that we are doing now to make India more attractive for our youth, we are likely to have people like Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella in our country,” he said.

“Earlier, one had to choose engineering or medicine as there were hardly any jobs. But today, the situation has improved quite a lot, and tomorrow it will improve even further,” Murthy said and advised students to opt the field one felt passionate about.

Heaping praises on Chandrasekaran, Murthy said the feat accomplished by the former was no lesser to the talents of celebrated minds abroad.

Turning nostalgic, Chandrasekaran said it was wonderful to walk around the campus and see how much it has expanded.
Addressing the students, Chandrasekaran said, “When you want to achieve something, it is not about how you are going to achieve it. All you need is to have aspiration.”
