BHEL increases global footprint; Chile, Estonia in client kitty

Image result for bhel trichyBHEL the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE), has expanded fur-ther in the international market by securing export orders from Chile and Estonia. With maiden orders for transformer bushing from Niguel Electric Ltd, Chile and Electronic cards from SCANFIL OY Vana Sauga, Estonia, BHEL has now expand-ed its global footprint to 82 coun-tries, across the six continents. Persistent efforts towards globalisation are said to have led BHEL to securing the highest ever export or-ders of over 210,000 crores from 23 countries in 2016-17 fiscal.

The Maharatna company has also secured its largest ever export order for setting up 1,320 MW (2x660 MW) Maitree Super Thermal Power Project in Bangladesh, which is BHEL's biggest power project order in the international market. According to sources, BHEL is making concerted efforts to tap the available opportunities in the over-seas market The company is favourably placed for opportunities in Africa, including a Combined Cycle Power Plant in Tanzania and a Hydro-Power Plant in Zimbabwe. These projects are nearing financial closure and BHEL expects to secure these orders soon, official said.
