Trichy - Tirunelveli intercity (Daily) superfast Express to start soon

The Southern Railway (SR) has said that another train service, which was announced in the railway budget, is expected to commence its first service shortly. The rake meant for train No. 22627/22628 Trichy - Tirunelveli intercity (Daily) superfast Express, which is eagerly awaited for, by the passengers has already reached Tiruchirappalli Junction.
The train would halt at Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi en route to Tirunelveli from Tiruchirappalli Junction daily. The train would depart at 7.15am and would arrive in Tirunelveli at 1pm. In the return direction, the train would depart from Tirunelveli at 2.15pm and would arrive in Trichy at 8pm.
According to SR, the train service would commence tentatively in two weeks time. The train will satisfy the long-standing demand for a day train to the southern districts.
