Liquid Oxygen Gas Plant commissioned for BHEL SMBs
BIDASS an association of
small and medium enterprises supplying components to BHEL,
has commissioned a liquid oxygen gas plant at a cost of Rs 40
lakh here.
The 20 KL tank capacity liquid oxygen plant would be able
to supply about 800-900 cylinders of about seven cubic meter
capacity to member industries.
Addressing a function last night, S.Sampath, BIDASS
President claimed that from just 13 members and annual sales
of Rs.20lakh in 1985, it had now snowballed to 400 members of
SMEs with a turnover of over Rs.50crore.
BIDASS would embark on new ventures that would include
supply of raw materials, he said.
Similarly IOC would be giving dealership for supply of
19kg LPG cylinders meant for industrial purpose by virtue of
which member industries can get timely supply of LPG at a
nominal price and thereby reduce cycle time in production.
BIDASS will soon set up a common chemical and physical
testing laboratory at a Rs five crore outlay.
M. Vairavel, BIDASS VP, said efforts were on to commission
a 'argon gas plant' of seven cubic meter capacity at an outlay
of Rs.38lakh, to be commissioned before the end of the
calendar year.
AV Krishnan, ED, BHEL inaugurated the gas plant.
He also formally inaugurated the updated ERP systems for
BIDASS at the function.
